What should you do when you arrive at Ankara?

Step 1: Visit the related departments at Hacettepe University

1. When you arrive at Ankara, please visit our Office as soon as possible in order to learn the details of the orientation programme and what you need to do upon arrival. 
2. Please also see your Erasmus+ Departmental Coordinator at Hacettepe University.

Please be reminded that you will need to add/drop courses before the end of the add/drop period, see our academic calendar for details. You will need to use the "Learning Agreement form for Studies During Mobility", (click here to download the form).

Step 2: Apply for a residence permit on-line

Within 30 days of your arrival in Turkey, you will need to apply for a residence permit. This will allow you to travel in and out of Turkey without re-applying for a visa. 

• Choose "I lodge an application for residence permit for the first time";
• For type of residence permit, choose "new application";
• Choose "students application form"; 
• Print the application form out.

Step 3: Documents you need to present at the Immigration Office

1. Residence Permit Application Form 
2. Photocopy of passport (all processed pages and page with visa, with original approval confirmation)
3. Four (4) pieces of biometric photos 
4. Valid Health Insurance 
5. Residence Permit Information Form
6. Address Document 
7. Residence Permit Card Fee Receipt
8. Declaration of Income
9. If the student is under the age of 18; a)  Birth Certificate; b) Letter of Consent 

→ IMPORTANT: For details about the required documents, please download the instructions of the Immigration Office from here.

(!) After you complete your application at the Immigration Office, you will be given a dated document. Do not forget to have this document with you in case you are to leave Turkey, it will allow to re-enter the country.
